B'nai Tzedek
How to be a Young Philanthropist
The B’nai Tzedek Program established a Foundation account in the name of a Bar or Bat Mitzvah aged teen and has proven to be attractive to teens, who are learning the value of tzedakah, charitable giving.
Here’s how it works: the teen contributes a minimum of $175 to start the process of opening a B’nai Tzedek Fund. $125 will be gifted by the Al Feldman Memorial Fund at that time. The Feldman/Hassenfeld Fund for the B’nai Tzedek Program will then provide a second gift of $250. The teen starts with a fund of at least $550 and a new philanthropist is born. *B’nai Tzedek funds are considered the property of the Jewish Federation of Greater Nashville.
To fully participate in the B’nai Tzedek program, it is asked that a B'nai Tzedek Fund is opened within one year of your child's Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
